Available at an affordable price, the arm trainer for hemorrhage control is an ideal solution for realistic training in hemorrhage control and providing medical assistance for arm injuries. Students will gain confidence in providing medical care for complex hemorrhages using tourniquets and bandages.
The arm features three different types of wounds:
- Deep laceration or puncture wound (5 cm)
- Penetrating gunshot wound from a large caliber bullet
- Wound at the junction of the arm and torso in the shoulder area
The intensity of bleeding is instructor-controlled: the bleeding intensity from each wound is adjustable using a manual blood pump system that simulates pulsating venous or arterial bleeding.
The trainer can be used as a standalone device and can also be attached to a volunteer's body using a carry bag strap, providing additional realism in field training. It allows for realistic bleeding simulation, including immediate feedback (cessation of bleeding) upon successful hemorrhage control.
The trainer allows practicing the following hemorrhage control procedures:
- Application of a tourniquet
- Application of a bandage to the wound, including the wound at the junction of the arm and torso
- Use of XSTAT® (hemostatic device)
Hemorrhage simulation system:
- Leak-proof blood reservoir (2 liters) with a manual blood pump system that simulates pulsating venous or arterial bleeding
- When applying a bandage to the wound, blood does not flow back into the reservoir
- Contains 250 ml of artificial blood concentrate to prepare 2 liters of blood
