HaemoCerTM PLUS is a plant-derived medical product obtained from purified plant starch. It is intended for use as an absorbent hemostatic agent to control bleeding during surgical procedures. HaemoCerTM PLUS does not contain components of animal or human origin. This is a biocompatible sterile white powder that does not have a pyrogenic effect. Typically, HaemoCerTM PLUS is fully absorbed within a few days.
Upon contact with blood, HaemoCerTM PLUS initiates a dual-action mechanism. First, it accelerates the natural blood coagulation process through rapid dehydration of blood and increased concentration of platelets, red blood cells, and blood proteins at the site of bleeding. Second, it forms a strong gel-like matrix that serves as a mechanical barrier and prevents rebleeding. HaemoCerTM PLUS is eliminated from the body by amylase within 48 hours.
HaemoCerTM PLUS is an auxiliary hemostatic agent intended for use during surgical procedures to control bleeding from capillary, venous, and arterial vessels in cases of ineffectiveness or insignificance of the application of clamps, vessel treatment, or other accepted methods.
