The Life/form® cricothyrotomy simulator is designed for studying and practicing the techniques necessary for performing needle or surgical cricothyrotomy procedures.
The trainer is used by paramedics, emergency medical technicians, combat medics, flight nurses, anesthesiologists, and other emergency medical personnel to enhance their ability and confidence in performing or assisting with airway surgical procedures.
Anatomically accurate landmarks aid in on-site training and allow for quick action. The hyperextended neck enables the user to identify the correct incision site. The trachea in the simulator is interchangeable, as the airways run completely from top to bottom. This allows for verification of the placement of the stylet and obturator after the incision is made.
Equipped with a chin and full-size neck, ties that can be used for secure retention of the obturator, and inflation of the simulated lungs checks for correct placement.
