Shoulder Wound Packing Trainer for Tactical Medicine/TCCC: Massive Hemorrhage Control + Hemorrhage Simulation

Simbodies Shoulder Wound Packing Trainer — a realistic silicone shoulder trainer with two wounds featuring internal bleeding tubes for simulating massive blood loss and practicing wound packing and the use of hemostatic agents. The trainer provides visual feedback when pressure and packing are performed correctly. Lightweight, portable, reusable, and washable — ideal for tactical medicine instructors and TCCC/TECC training.

Purpose of this trainer in tactical medicine

In TCCC/TECC and the MARCH algorithm, block M (Massive Hemorrhage) is skill number 1. Packing a deep wound (especially in the shoulder girdle/axillary area) requires practice “to the point of automation.” SG-TR0391 is designed specifically for this: realistic anatomy + controlled bleeding + verification of correct pressure/packing.

Skills practiced:

  • Wound packing
  • Direct pressure / pressure maintenance
  • Use of hemostatic agents with visual confirmation of correct pressure
  • Simulation of massive hemorrhage through internal bleeding tubes

Wound design (important for realism)

  • The trainer has two wounds with internal bleeding tubes.
  • Manufacturer's clarification: three injuries — 2 small “through-and-through” gunshot wounds + 1 large internal cavity.

Materials and resources

  • Prosthetic Grade Platinum Silicone — durable, skin-safe, washable, and reusable.
  • Handmade in the UK.
  • Due to handmade production, slight variations from the photo may occur.
