LAP-X is a laparoscopic surgical simulator. It offers accessible training for minimally invasive surgical procedures for healthcare professionals at a low cost. It is designed for surgical residents, doctors, and operating room assistants to practice laparoscopic skills in medical schools/universities, hospitals, and continuing education centers.
The LAP-X laparoscopic simulator features three different system platforms to meet the diverse needs of healthcare professionals: LAP-X Hybrid, LAP-X VR, and LAP-X Box.
Features of LAP-X
Basic Laparoscopic Skills
This module is designed to practice basic endoscope control skills in a non-anatomical environment.
Laparoscopic Appendectomy
This module is intended for training in laparoscopic appendectomy. Trainees can choose from several instruments, such as EndoLoop, scissors, and/or EndoGIA.
Nephrectomy
Designed for training in laparoscopic total nephrectomy. This exercise allows for the application of clips and cutting the renal vein, renal artery, and ureter.
Anatomy Navigation
Created to test knowledge of anatomical structures in the pelvic area while simultaneously training endoscope control.
Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
Design and training for laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
Preview of Complications during Nephrectomy
Aimed at addressing issues of unwanted bleeding during laparoscopic nephrectomy.
Vessel Coagulation
Designed for practicing coagulation and cutting of vessels by trainees.
LAP-X Hybrid
LAP-X Hybrid is a unique laparoscopic simulator that combines the functionality of a virtual reality trainer and a box trainer. Users can train in virtual reality mode on various training modules: basic, beginner, intermediate, advanced, as well as procedural modules such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, nephrectomy, etc. The training mode can be easily switched to box trainer mode at any time. As a box trainer, LAP-X Hybrid has measurement capabilities and result recording. All validated exercises for the box trainer are compatible with LAP-X, providing the user with genuine tactile feedback during training. The instructor has the option to pre-record an example exercise. The user can then record their own result and send it to the instructor for online assessment.
LAP-X VR
LAP-X VR is a virtual reality laparoscopic simulator. It provides a validated package of five training programs that vary in complexity in a virtual reality environment to achieve a high level of skills. Users can train on the following modules: basic, beginner, intermediate, advanced, as well as procedural modules such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, nephrectomy, etc.
LAP-X VR can be upgraded to LAP-X Hybrid.
LAP-X Box
LAP-X Box functions as a traditional box trainer with a software package for recording, which includes a database for registering various users. User results can be recorded for further evaluation by the instructor. All validated exercises for the box trainer are compatible with LAP-X.
