Temporal Bone Patient PHACON “Schmidt” – 55 years old – normal anatomy
For training in various classical procedures on the temporal bone, such as mastoidectomy, the PHACON Temporal Bone Patient “Schmidt” represents a highly detailed anatomical artificial specimen. The patient is based on a set of high-resolution CT data, which is included in the navigation system. Structures such as the tympanic membrane, ossicles, facial nerve, and chorda tympani are important landmarks. In special variants for cochleostomy practice, a complex auricle is implemented for the insertion of electrodes into the tympanic membrane. Preparation of the bed for cochlear implants and bony bridges is also possible.
