The mannequin is a training simulator for teaching the control of bleeding from the lower limb with ultra-realistic simulation of wounds and bleeding. It provides effective training in patient care at the pre-hospital stage through theoretical and practical preparation for stopping bleeding with the application of dressings and tourniquets. This simulator is particularly suitable for use in tactical combat casualty care (TCCC) training courses and for providing civilian medical assistance in case of injuries.

The leg simulator for teaching bleeding control is a simple and cost-effective solution for realistic training in bleeding control and providing medical assistance for thigh injuries. Students will gain confidence in providing medical assistance for complex bleeding with the application of tourniquets and dressings, as well as managing the limb after amputation. The P103 leg simulator features three different types of wounds:

  • Deep laceration (approximately 4 cm deep) in the groin area
  • Penetrating gunshot wound with entry and exit wounds in the upper thigh
  • Amputation of the lower limb at the knee

The manual blood supply system pumps artificial blood into each wound separately, two, or all three. Simple realistic practice of various scenarios of pulsating venous or arterial bleeding. Students receive immediate visual feedback (stopping bleeding through mechanical occlusion) when the appropriate technique is applied correctly.

This simulator allows practicing the following bleeding control procedures:

Application of tourniquets to the limb:

Tourniquets can be applied using the "above the injury site with tight compression" method at the proximal end of the limb or 5–8 cm above the wound. When applied correctly, the tourniquet stops the bleeding due to mechanical occlusion of the vessels. Training in the application of two tourniquets is also possible.

Wound packing:

Deep lacerations can only be palpated at the level of the damaged blood vessel. The wound at the junction of the leg and torso and the gunshot wound can be packed with gauze.

Application of hemostatic device:

Management of gunshot wounds can be performed using the XSTAT® hemostatic device.

Dressing of wounds on amputated limb/large area of injury

Technique for managing the amputation site

This technique is applicable in scenarios excluding the wound at the junction of the limb and torso. The dressing material for this type of wound is included in the delivery set.

Bleeding simulation system:

  • Leak-proof blood reservoir (2 liters) with a manual blood supply system that simulates pulsating venous or arterial bleeding
  • When applying a dressing to the wound, blood does not flow back into the reservoir, creating a continuous simulation effect.
  • Contains 250 ml of artificial blood concentrate for preparing 2 liters of blood

  • Weight 5.6 kg
  • Dimensions 91x10.2x8.9 cm
  • The trainer simulates the lower limb of an adult male with an amputation at the knee, featuring realistic external anatomical structure.
  • The covering is made of high-quality durable silicone SKINlike™, mimicking the tactile characteristics of human skin and tissues.
  • The trainer has bony anatomical landmarks and a palpable damaged blood vessel.
  • Immediate feedback: bleeding stops (mechanical occlusion of blood vessels) with correct tourniquet application (placement and fixation)
  • The tourniquet can be applied using the method of "above the injury site with tight compression" or 5–8 cm above the wound
  • Each wound can be covered using a special pad to practice scenarios of different types of injuries in various sections of the limb.
  • All wounds can bleed independently of each other
  • The trainer is designed for field use, featuring a sturdy construction and requiring no power from a battery or external source
  • Easy cleaning and transport in a carrying bag (included)
  • Realistic budget-friendly trainer for multiple uses in training
  • Leg with 3 different traumatic wounds (available in light and dark skin options)
  • 2 wound pads
  • Manual blood delivery system
  • Carrying bag
  • Protective cover
  • Blood reservoir with a capacity of 2 liters
  • 250 ml of artificial blood concentrate
  • Note: tourniquets are not included in the delivery set.
  • Available in light and dark skin color options.
