The Life/form® Cricothyrotomy Simulator is designed for learning and practicing the techniques necessary for performing needle or surgical cricothyrotomy procedures.
The simulator is used by paramedics, emergency medical technicians, military medics, flight nurses, anesthesiologists, and other emergency medical personnel to enhance their ability and confidence in performing or assisting with surgical interventions on the airway.
Anatomically accurate landmarks aid in on-site training and allow for quick action. The extended neck enables the user to identify the correct incision site. The trachea in the simulator is interchangeable, as the airways run completely from top to bottom. This allows for verification of the placement of the stylet and obturator after the incision is made.
The set includes a chin and full-size neck, straps that can be used to hold the obturator in a secure position, and the inflation of the simulator lungs checks the correctness of its placement.
