ADAM-X is a male patient mannequin designed for practicing practical skills and providing medical assistance in emergency situations. The ADAM-X mannequin replicates the skeleton and anatomical structure of a human. ADAM-X is robust and suitable for training in any emergency situation involving trauma in any environment, making it ideal for training in military and civilian traumatology. ADAM-X is a wireless system; a fully functional wireless computer allows the instructor to monitor and make adjustments during training. ADAM-X has excellent and unique characteristics and features that make training more realistic.
Realistic Anatomy
The ADAM-X mannequin replicates the skeleton and anatomical structure of a human with distinctive features and properties. It is life-sized and has very realistic skin. ADAM-X automatically blinks depending on the physiological state and also has a physiological response of the pupils to light and touch. The teeth are replaceable, and the mannequin's tongue can swell.
Training
ADAM-X is ideal for training in specialized resuscitation skills, scenario-based training, and treatment training. Since ADAM-X is fully wireless and remotely controlled and has realistic human proportions, it is portable and perfect for on-site training. During CPR skills training, the accuracy of hand placement, as well as the depth and frequency of compressions, is monitored.
Sounds
ADAM-X features a wide range of sounds. Auscultation of breath sounds is possible at 8 points, heart tones at 5 points, and lung sounds at 14 points on the front of the mannequin, with the ability to independently set sound options in 4 areas. Auscultation on the back of the mannequin is also possible. Breath sounds are independent and related to the ventilation of each lung. ADAM-X "speaks" and can say "yes," "no," and some exclamations. It also features laryngeal and coughing sounds.
Cardiovascular System
ADAM-X has bilaterally palpable pulses at the carotid artery, femoral artery, radial artery, dorsalis pedis artery, popliteal artery, and posterior tibial artery.
Pulmonology
The airway of the ADAM-X mannequin is very realistic. It has fully independent right and left lungs, and lung ventilation automatically triggers corresponding breath sounds, chest movements, and pulmonary gas exchange. The occurrence of apnea or hypoventilation along with low oxygen fraction in the inhaled gas mixture leads to corresponding physiological changes: hypercapnia, hypoxemia, decreased peripheral oxygen saturation, and tachycardia. During positive pressure ventilation or spontaneous recovery of ventilation, ADAM-X's breathing returns to the appropriate respiratory rate. ADAM-X also features chest floatation, and the resistance of the airways changes accordingly.
